Scholastic Library Publishing and the Common Core

To meet the Common Core State Standards, as students rise through the grades, they are expected to be able to use the reading skills they build to understand more complex informational texts. Text complexity includes not only reading level, but also levels of meaning, text organization, text features, and knowledge demands placed upon the reader.
